DG Global expands footprint in Saskatchewan with acquisition of Ilta Grain Inc.

SASKATOON, SK. November 30, 2019 – DG Global Inc. – a leading agricultural container shipper in Canada is pleased to announce the recent acquisition of Ilta Grain Inc.’s Saskatoon plant, one of most advanced pulse processing plants in Western Canada. With state-of-the-art equipment resting atop 300 acres of land, the plant will enable DG Global to source, process and export more product than ever before, to the company’s wide global customer base of over 60 countries.

DG Global’s wide range of product includes containerized soybeans, grains, pulses and special crops. The former Ilta Grain facility – which completed construction in 2016 and currently handles more than 15 commodities, is CGC licensed and bonded, with CPRIS/HACCP certifications, in addition to Pro-Cert Organic Certified features. The plant also boasts storage and processing capabilities and advanced technology such as:

  • 300k MT of annual capacity within close proximity of the CN container/intermodal yard

  • More than 18,000 MT of total storage with over 60 individual silos for segregation

  • A 115 car-loop track to load full unit trains

  • Loading capabilities for varying transport, including hopper cars, source-load containers, intermodal units and trucks

  • Three bagging lines, including load capabilities in 1 and 2 MT totes, 100 lb, 50 KG and 25 KG bags

  • Massive production area of pulses, cereals, oilseeds, and specialty crops, with capacity to hold up to 500 empty and/or loaded containers

  • Air screen cleaners

  • Gravity tables

  • Indenters

  • Dedicated electronic eye colour sorting room

  • Grain dryers

With the expanded operations including sourcing, processing and exporting processed pulses represented by the acquisition Ilta Grain, DG Global Inc. is well on its way to being the largest agricultural container shipper in Canada.
